SCHATZ WINS THRILLING BEVELITE GLASS $50,000 CLASSIC OPENER
GRANVILLE, NSW (January 4) - Donny Schatz has won a lot of features at
Tyrepower Parramatta City Raceway (TPCR), but on Friday night it looked
like second was going to be where the two-time Advance Auto Parts World
of Outlaws Sprint Series champion would finish. Schatz never gave up
behind the wheel of the Rush Racing No. 15 J&J with Shaver-built
Chevrolet power and made a final lap pass of leader Garry Brazier in
turn four to take home his third victory this year at TPCR.
Garry was in the wrong place at the wrong time in the traffic, Schatz
said. But that can happen in lapped traffic and its just one of those
things that can catch you out. I am pleased to win tonight, but the
jobs not finished, just yet, Schatz added.

KENNY'S AUSTRALIAN ADVENTURE - 4 |

Greetings Mates,
It was a
tough start for the first evening of the 50 to win. We had a little issue
in the qualifying. During the heat Don learned a couple things and put
them in to use for the A Main. In the A the car run well thru 1 & 2 on
the bottom 3 & 4 entry was on the bottom and seemed to slide up across which
worked ok. As the race went on with cautions it looked sorta bleak! But with 5 to go Don got a good restart and stayed with Brazier. With only
the 3rd and 4th turns we got out break, lapped cars and Brazier missed his
mark. Don drove by on the 4th turn for the win.
Another night
tomorrow for the big one... that is what the focus is on right
now!
Hope all is well
back home!

SCHATZ COMES HOME SECOND TO THE KING
GRANVILLE, NSW (January 1) - Donny Schatz came up one spot short on Monday night at Tyrepower Parramatta City Raceway (TPCR) in his quest for three straight wins. Schatz chased 20-time WoO Champion Steve Kinser, but couldn't make a run at the lead in the 30-lap feature event.
Schatz was the top qualifier driving the Gary Rush Racing No. 15 J&J with Shaver-built Chevrolet in the field of 44 entries. He finished fourth in the first heat race and third in the Fire Service Plus Dash race earning him a fifth place starting position.
Kinser started on the outside of the front row and took the lead from polesitter Kerry Madsen with a handful of laps in the books. Schatz worked his way into contention and tried to track down Kinser, but couldn't catch "the King" on this night.
Schatz and the Rush Racing crew will now turn their focus to the two-night $50K Sprintcar International hosted on Friday and Saturday nights.

Greetings from Down Under,
As everyone
knows racing can be very stressful. After competing in the race on
Saturday night Don and I needed a little rest. We got it but with some
pain! Don and I had the chance to get in the water in the Bay of Sydney
off the Yacht of team owner Gary Rush. It was a great day on the bay in
prep for the evenings New Year fireworks. The fireworks were certainly a site that I
will not forget.
Happy New Year!
