TSR Looks to Close Campaign With Victory at Charlotte’s World Finals
INDIANAPOLIS (Oct. 30, 2012) – The achievement most competitors strive for is to be named champion at season’s end. It’s a goal not easily accomplished but remarkably rewarding when a driver and his team is hoisting the coveted trophy when the dust settles.
The 2012 World of Outlaws (WoO) Sprint Car Series season concludes this weekend with the PEAK Motor Oil World of Outlaws World Finals presented by NAPA Auto Parts. Following Saturday night’s final 30-lap A-Feature of the season, there will be a familiar face ready to accept the hardware at The Dirt Track @ Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway. Tony Stewart Racing’s (TSR) Donny Schatz can clinch his fifth WoO championship Thursday by simply making a qualifying lap behind the wheel of the TSR No. 15 STP/Armor All/Chevrolet J&J, and the Fargo, N.D., racer would like nothing more than to put an exclamation point on a championship season by duplicating his sweep of the World Finals in 2011.

SCHATZ SECOND TWICE AT I-55
PEVELY, MO – Donny Schatz continued his charge toward a fifth World of Outlaws championship Saturday with a pair of second-place finishes at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Mo. Schatz raced the Tony Stewart Racing (TSR) No. 15 STP/Armor All/Chevrolet J&J from seventh to second in the 55-lap Ironman 55 and made a late charge in the 40-lap A-Feature to pick up his 15th runner-up finish of 2012.
“I guess we call it a good day,” admitted Schatz after the second main event. “We came to win a couple of races, but were just one spot short. In the Ironman race, we had a chance and had a problem with the restart. That’s racing I guess. Tonight, Jason (Sides) wasn’t going to be denied. It’s a long race here and we just tried to be around at the end. The STP continue to give me a great car and we’re done to one more event. It’s been a great run these past two months.”

TSR Teammates Lead Outlaws Back to St. Louis
INDIANAPOLIS (Oct. 11, 2012) – There couldn’t be a better time for the Tony Stewart Racing (TSR) tandem of Steve Kinser and Donny Schatz to return to St. Louis for the World of Outlaws (WoO) Sprint Car Series final Midwest appearance of 2012. The fans in the region are known for their passion and, while many will revel in the St. Louis Cardinals’ bid to repeat as World Series champions, the grassroots Sprint car fans will enjoy one of the most exciting days of the season. Mother Nature may have taken the first two rounds in this battle this year, but all involved with Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Mo., are hoping this third time will be the charm.

SCHATZ SECOND AT ROLLING WHEELS
ELBRIDGE, NY (Oct. 6) – Donny Schatz continued his late-season surge on Saturday night with a second-place finish in the World of Outlaws (WoO) Sprint Car Series 25-lap A-Feature at Rolling Wheels Raceway in Elbridge, N.Y.
The driver of the Tony Stewart Racing (TSR) No. 15 STP/Armor All/Chevrolet J&J was coming off last weekend’s victory in the Morgan Hughes National Open, which was his eighth win since his triumph at Cornwall (Ontario) Speedway on July 29. Since that race, the four-time WoO champion has raced 27 times and finished in the top-five 24 nights. Saturday, he qualified third in the field of 28 cars, finished third in heat three and raced from sixth to third in the dash.

Look To Conquer Rolling Wheels Raceway
INDIANAPOLIS (Oct. 3, 2012) – As a driver leading the race, the only thing better than seeing the flagman give the “five-to-go” signal is seeing the checkered flag. Saturday’s World of Outlaws (WoO) Sprint Car Series race at Rolling Wheels Raceway in Elbridge, N.Y., represents the five-races-to-go signal for Tony Stewart Racing’s (TSR) Donny Schatz, who is closing in on his fifth WoO title.

Schatz Makes History In Winning 50th Williams Grove National Open
MECHANICSBURG, PA (Sept. 29, 2012) – There was a time when Donny Schatz was nearly impossible to beat when the World of Outlaws (WoO) Sprint Car Series showed up at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pa. But for the last five years, the four-time WoO champion wasn’t the dominant force he once was.
That may have changed Saturday night, when Schatz piloted the Tony Stewart Racing (TSR) No. 15 STP/Armor All/Chevrolet J&J to victory in the 50th annual Morgan Hughes National Open. The win was his fifth triumph in the prestigious race, the most by any driver.

Tony Stewart Racing Teammates Lead Outlaws into Hostile Territory
INDIANAPOLIS (Sept. 27, 2012) – It’s not often the greatest Sprint car driver of all-time and his highly decorated teammate can enter an event as underdogs. Despite their success at Williams Grove Speedway during their careers, Tony Stewart Racing’s (TSR) Steve Kinser and Donny Schatz and the rest of the World of Outlaws (WoO) Sprint Car Series regulars are not the favorites heading into the 50th annual Morgan Hughes National Open weekend festivities at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pa.
The locals, known appropriately as the Pennsylvania Posse, have made it tough on the Outlaws the last few years and have several drivers playing the favorite role this weekend. After the Outlaws dominated the area for years, the locals stepped up and got the best of them for the better part of four seasons. From July 2008 when Schatz won the Summer Nationals until the 2011 Summer Nationals, the Posse claimed 11 of the 12 WoO races. WoO regular Jason Meyers picked up last year’s National Open, annually the biggest Sprint car race in the East, and Kinser continued the Outlaws’ revival at “The Grove” by winning both the Spring Nationals and the Morgan Cup.

SCHATZ SECOND AGAIN AT LERNERVILLE
SARVER, PA – (Sept. 22) Mother Nature tried to wash out the World of Outlaws weekend, but thanks to a diligent group at Lernerville Speedway Saturday night, the Commonwealth Clash went on. Just as diligent was Donny Schatz and his Tony Stewart Racing team as they earned their seventh-straight podium finish when Schatz brought home the TSR No. 15 STP/Armor All/Chevrolet J&J second in the 35-lap A-Feature.
“These STP guys are amazing,” Schatz said following his 11th consecutive top-10 finish. “No matter what gets thrown at them, they just keep giving me a great car. We were looking forward to racing both Eldora and Lernerville this weekend, but Mother Nature decided to make things difficult. We had to wait out the rain and we knew the track was going to be fast. We were able to qualify well, get through our heat, the dash and just kind of hang there for a while in the feature. The car came in about halfway through the race and a couple of the guys in front of us had some problems. Finishing second was a good result for us, and now we’ll just keep our focus toward the next race.”

SCHATZ GIVES BACK TO MINOT THROUGH FEED THE CHILDREN
MINOT, N.D. – (Sept. 18) Last May when Donny Schatz was asked to participate in Tony Stewart’s annual charity race, the Feed the Children Prelude to the Dream, he knew it was going to be something he would always remember. On Tuesday in his hometown of Minot, N.D., he closed the book on the experience when he returned to help members from Feed the Children and Community Action Partnership – Minot Region distribute food and non-perishable items to those in need.
“It’s just an honor to be able to help people in my hometown,” said Schatz. “This is where it all started for me. I grew up here and being able to do something like this is pretty rewarding. Tony Stewart is involved in a number of great charities. He gives back in so many ways. It was exciting to race in the Prelude to the Dream, and I’m just as happy that I could be part of this.”

SCHATZ NEARLY WINS FROM 17TH AT DEER CREEK
SPRING VALLEY, MN – It was just the kind of race every fan wants to see. The winning pass comes on the final lap and everyone goes home happy. Well, usually the driver that finished second isn’t’ happy, but on Saturday night that was Donny Schatz. He might have been slightly unhappy that he didn’t win, but he wasn’t upset about finishing second Saturday night in the World of Outlaws 35-lap FVP Clash at the Creek at Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, Minn.
Schatz raced the Tony Stewart Racing (TSR) No. 15 STP/Armor All/Chevrolet J&J from the 17th-starting position and into the lead on lap 34, but race-long leader Craig Dollansky got back past him heading down the backstretch on the final lap. Dollansky would then take the bottom groove and held off Schatz for the win. The runner-up finish was his 11th of the season and continued a streak of five consecutive finishes of first or second for Schatz.
