FARGO, N.D. (September 19, 2019) – The 10-time and defending World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series champion, Donny Schatz, will come into this weekend’s Outlaw Boot Hill Showdown at Kansas’ Dodge City Raceway Park sitting atop the point standings once again.

Schatz collected a pair of top-five finishes to cap off the final west coast swing of the season last weekend to earn a slim 10-point cushion over Brad Sweet in the World of Outlaws season standings.

The action began on Friday, Sept. 13th at the Stockton Dirt Track in Stockton, California. Schatz started the night by going Quick Time and setting a new track record with a lap of 12.543 around the high-banked three-eighths mile oval, averaging 107.629mph. From there, he won his heat and finished sixth in the DIRTVision Fast Pass Dash, earning him a starting spot on the outside of the third row for the main event.

Schatz ran solidly in the third position until leader Jacob Allen suffered a mechanical failure, moving Schatz up to the runner-up spot with two to go. The driver of the Tony Stewart / Curb-Agajanian Racing No. 15 took the checkers in second to regain the points lead one race after Sweet took it from him.

On Saturday, the Greatest Show on Dirt returned to the scenic Calistoga Speedway in Calistoga, California.

Schatz moved forward in the 25-lap feature, collecting a fourth-place finish from the seventh starting position.

This weekend, the World of Outlaws head back to America’s heartland for a doubleheader at Dodge City Raceway Park. Schatz is the defending race winner of the Outlaw Boot Hill Showdown with his win on Oct. 28th last year. The Fargo, N.D. driver started on the outside of the front row and led 22 of the 30 laps en route to what was his 20th win of the season.

Schatz has four career wins at the three-eighths mile, backed by a trio of runner-up finishes in 23 starts. Over his last 10 appearances to Dodge City, Schatz has an average finish of 6.5.

Schatz and the entire Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing team would like to thank Toco Warranty, Ford Performance, Curb Records, Sage Fruit, Absolute Automation & Security and J&J Auto Racing for their continued support.
