FARGO, N.D. (June 4, 2019) – The World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series made its inaugural visit to Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway last weekend for the Music City Outlaw Nationals. Donny Schatz put his Tony Stewart / Curb-Agajanian Racing No. 15 back in victory lane on Friday night for the third time this season.

Patience by Schatz paid off as he waited for the leader, Bill Balog, to make a mistake in the feature before placing a bid for the lead. Balog slipped slightly with eight laps remaining, which allowed Schatz to power into the lead. Once out front, the 10-time and defending World of Outlaws champion cruised to the win.

“Anytime you go anywhere new it’s always good to get a win,” said Schatz in victory lane. “We’re in an awesome market that we’ve never been to before. It’s great to win the inaugural race here.

“My guys, it’s incredible what they do,” Schatz continued. “They’ve been on their game. They’ve been making the race car better and better and better. And it’s fun to drive.”

The Greatest Show on Dirt returned to the semi-banked quarter-mile oval on Saturday with $25,000 up for grabs. Schatz started mid-pack on the grid for the 30-lap feature. The Fargo, N.D. driver moved his way forward throughout the race to capture a solid fifth-place finish.

Tonight, the World of Outlaws return to Fairbury American Legion Speedway in Fairbury, Ill. In last year’s inaugural visit, Schatz wheeled his way from 13th to finish eighth in the 40-lap feature.

Entering tonight’s event, Schatz has a 48 point lead over Brad Sweet atop the standings and has a series-leading 15 top-fives and 21 top-tens in 23 starts. His three wins are tied for the most among all drivers thus far this season.

Schatz also made his 2019 Late Model debut in the Dakotas over the weekend. Schatz unloaded his Fastlane Car Wash / Fargo Petro No. 15 Late Model at Watertown, South Dakota’s Casino Speedway for the WISSOTA Late Model Challenge Series event. Following a second-place effort in his heat, Schatz started and finished in the ninth position in the main event.

Schatz and the entire Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing team would like to thank Toco Warranty, Ford Performance, Curb Records, Sage Fruit, Absolute Automation & Security and J&J Auto Racing for their continued support.
